Discover the unique and fascinating story of your family...

I am a qualified, professional genealogist. My bespoke research service will reveal the story of your ancestors:

What are their names? Where did they come from? Where did they live and work? Did they spend time in a workhouse, infirmary or asylum? Were they apprenticed to a trade? Were they mentioned in local or national newspapers? Did they hold property or leave a will?

Beyond the Census
Have you found your ancestors in the 1841 or 1851 census? Were they living in Wiltshire? I will use the local archive to trace their history into the 18th century. (This package could be combined with one of the 19th century packages above.) The records available vary according to e.g. your ancestor's parish and occupation. A full quote and preliminary report will be provided after an initial archive survey.

Keeping it Local
I am based in north-east Wiltshire, so well placed to visit locations throughout Wiltshire and the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. I have a particular interest in the history of Swindon and Salisbury. I can take on small requests like archive look-ups or larger projects like the study of a local family or place. I accept research commissions in the following archives:

  • Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre (and smaller Wiltshire based-archives)

  • Historic England Library & Archive (Swindon)

  • Bristol Archives

  • Gloucestershire Archives

Something Else
Would you like to combine the packages above? Or do you have something different in mind? I am happy to put together a bespoke package to meet your requirements.
